Matri Sakti

Shri Chamunda Devi

The Dasha Mahavidyas are the ten supreme forms of Adi Parashakti, revealed for the upliftment and liberation of all beings. In the scriptures, they are described as the highest manifestations of Divine Mother, who transcends all dualities and yet takes countless forms to protect, guide, and bless her devotees.

These ten goddesses are: Maa Kali, Maa Tara, Maa Tripura Sundari (Shodashi), Maa Bhuvaneshwari, Maa Chhinnamasta, Maa Bhairavi, Maa Dhumavati, Maa Baglamukhi, Maa Matangi, and Maa Kamala. Each is a complete expression of Shakti, embodying deep spiritual truths, fierce protective power, and boundless compassion.

The Mahavidyas are worshipped in the Tantric and Shakta traditions, where they are honored as the essence of the universe itself—Maa Kali as Time, Maa Tara as the savior, Maa Tripura Sundari as supreme beauty and bliss, Maa Bhuvaneshwari as the mother of worlds, Maa Chhinnamasta as the power of sacrifice and awakening, Maa Bhairavi as fierce energy, Maa Dhumavati as the eternal widow and detachment, Maa Baglamukhi as the power of silence and victory, Maa Matangi as inner wisdom, and Maa Kamala as the goddess of prosperity and grace.

The Dasha Mahavidyas are said to grant both bhoga (worldly fulfillment) and moksha (spiritual liberation). Worshipping them with devotion, faith, and purity of heart bestows protection from obstacles, removal of ignorance, divine blessings, and ultimately union with the Supreme Shakti.

Durga Puja

As the monsoon clouds retreat and the crisp air of autumn descends upon Bengal, an unparalleled excitement sweeps across towns and villages. Streets shimmer with colorful lights, the aroma of flowers and incense fills the air, and families begin preparing for one of the most significant festivals in the Bengali calendar—Durga Puja ….. Devi durga uma

Durga is not merely an idol, nor is she only a goddess. She is a consciousness, a profound awareness. In every act of worship, and especially during Durga Puja, this consciousness manifests as the Mahapuja—the great worship. All the virtuous actions we perform, when gathered together, find their embodiment in a single form ….. Read more

Tantra, the Five M’s, and the Truth

If someone eats two pieces of fish, or someone eats four pieces of meat, does God instantly run away from them? The Divine is not so cheaply held, nor does the Supreme so readily let go. Just as politics has its fundamentalists, religion too has its fundamentalists — religious extremists who mistake ritual or rule for the essence. That is a very big truth; not everyone is able to say it …… Read more

Introduction to Dasha Maha Vidya ( Updating )

Who is Kali?

Beloved children of the Divine, today let us sit together, as if in the courtyard of the temple, in the stillness of the night, and allow our hearts to be bathed in the presence of Maha Kali. For Kali Puja is not just a ritual; it is a doorway—a passage that leads us from ignorance to wisdom, from fear to freedom, from death to immortality.
And when do we celebrate this Puja? On the Amavasya of Kartik month—the night of complete darkness. Why this night? Because it is in the darkest of nights that the light of the Mother shines brightest. It is when the moon withdraws, when even the stars appear faint, that the Mother manifests as the flame of truth in the heart of her devotee …..  Read more

Tara The Eternal Mother

Can everyone worship the Dasamahavidya, the Ten Great Wisdom Goddesses? How many forms does Mother Tara have? Where did she come from? And sometimes, only her feet are worshipped — is that right or wrong?

The scriptures are clear: without proper initiation into Tantra, one should not worship the Dasamahavidya. For the uninitiated, chanting their mantras or performing their rituals is not advised at all. Instead of bringing good, it can cause harm. These are not simple deities. Among them, Mother Tara is one of the most difficult to approach.

Why is she called Tara? The word “Tara” means “the one who delivers, the savior, the one who ferries across.” She is the goddess who saves her devotees from the ocean of miseries and dangers …….. Read more

Ashta Matrikas

“In the tapestry of Hindu Tantra and Shaktism, the Ashta Matrikas (“Eight Mothers”) stand as radiant embodiments of the Divine Feminine. They are not just individual goddesses, but cosmic energies (Shaktis)—each manifesting the essence of a major deity. Collectively, they form a mandala of power, guarding the eight directions of the universe and guiding creation, preservation, and dissolution

The Matrikas are ancient. Their roots are found in the Devi Mahatmya, the Puranas, and Tantric traditions. They appear as fierce protectresses, each emanating from a male god—Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Indra, Skanda, Varaha, Narasimha, and Kali—yet transcending those origins to embody autonomous powers in their own right ……………  Read More

Yogini Bhairava Pairs

In the vast landscape of Tantra, one of the most fascinating mandalas is the union of the 64 Yoginis with the 64 Bhairavas. The Yoginis are fierce and liberating manifestations of the Divine Feminine, while the Bhairavas are their masculine counterparts, emanations of Shiva as guardian, destroyer, and liberator.

This sacred pairing is not merely symbolic—it represents the eternal dance of Shakti and Shiva, energy and consciousness, movement and stillness. The Yoginis embody raw cosmic energy, while the Bhairavas channel and stabilize it. Together, they create the balance that sustains the cycles of creation, preservation, and dissolution  …………… Read more
